What are the ideal storage conditions for your products?

Store sealed bottles in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. The ideal storage condition is at room temperature (approximately 20°C). Do not expose to freezing conditions or excessive heat.

What is the typical shelf life of Kovalent Coatings products?

Unopened bottles have a shelf life of up to 6 months when stored under recommended conditions. Once opened, bottles should be used within 1 month and must be tightly sealed to minimize exposure to oxygen.

What is the coverage of a 50 ml bottle?

A 50 ml bottle provides sufficient coverage for up to a full-size SUV. We recommend using one bottle per vehicle, with any remaining product applied to high-exposure areas such as the hood and roof for added protection. All Kovalent Coatings products are single-layer applications, except Graphene Matrix, which requires two layers to activate the self-healing effect.

Borophene

What makes Borophene unique?

Borophene is composed of boron nitride and silica nanoparticles, providing 9H+ hardness, thermal resistance, and a single-layer thickness of up to 10 μm. Can Borophene be layered with other coatings?

No. Borophene is a high-performance standalone coating and should not be layered with other coatings. However, you can apply multiple layers of Borophene.

What should be chosen between Borophene and Graphene?

Borophene and Graphene are both professional-grade coatings. Borophene, based on boron nitride, belongs to the premium category and offers higher gloss, greater chemical resistance, enhanced surface slickness, and long-term durability, supported by a 9-year warranty. Graphene Matrix

What makes Graphene Matrix unique?

Graphene Matrix integrates self-healing technology that heals minor scratches and swirl marks at 100 °C. It exhibits ultra-gloss, extreme hydrophobicity, and high resistance to chemicals, UV radiation, and environmental contaminants, ensuring long-term protection.

Will Graphene Matrix heal deep scratches?

No. Graphene Matrix self-heals only minor scratches and swirl marks through self-healing technology activated at 100 °C. It cannot repair deep scratches or structural paint damage, which require professional correction or respray.

How is self-healing activated?

Self-healing is activated at 100 °C. We recommend using boiling water or a heat gun set up to 100 °C to trigger the effect.
How many layers of Graphene Matrix should be applied?

It is mandatory to apply two layers of Graphene Matrix. We recommend not exceeding more than 5 layers.

What is the durability of Graphene Matrix?

When properly applied and maintained, Graphene Matrix offers up to 9 years of durable protection, maintaining gloss, hydrophobic performance, and surface integrity.
Can Graphene Matrix be applied on vehicle interiors and matte finishes?

Graphene Matrix is designed for exterior paint. For interiors such as leather, vinyl, and plastics, we recommend Restore. For matte paint finishes, our Matte coating provides up to 5 years of protection without altering the finish.

Revive

How is Revive different from other coatings?

Revive is a marine-grade ceramic coating formulated with high-purity silica and 20–50 nm nanoparticles, forming a dense, crystal-hard protective layer. It provides resistance against saltwater, UV radiation, chemicals, bio-fouling, and minor scratches while maintaining long-lasting gloss and protection. Suitable for both marine and automotive applications.

Is Revive only for marine use?

No. Revive is also suitable for automotive surfaces (including RVs), aviation applications, and other exterior substrates.

Do multiple layers of Revive need to be applied?

We recommend 2 layers for Boats, Planes and RV. One layer of Revive is sufficient for automobiles.

What is the durability of Revive?

What makes Matte unique?

Can Matte be used on gloss paint?

Will it alter the factory matte texture?

What is PowerShield?

Can anyone use PowerShield?

How long does PowerShield last?

Can PowerShield be applied over Borophene or Graphene Matrix?

PowerShield provides gloss and hydrophobic effect and can be used as a booster as coatings wear down over time. However, it should not be applied over Graphene Matrix, as it may interfere with the self-healing properties.

Do you provide application training or certification?

Yes. Kovalent Coatings provides application training and approved applicator certification for professional detailers. For more details, contact your distributor.

What is the ideal curing time between layers?

+

The ideal curing time between layers varies by coating type:
For Graphene Matrix, allow approximately 90 – 120 minutes between the first and second layer.
For other coatings such as Borophene, Prolong, and Graphene, a gap of around 40 minutes between layers is sufficient.

If an application shows high spots or residue, what should applicators do?

+

If noticed immediately: Apply a small amount of the same product on the affected area and wipe it off with a clean microfiber.
If noticed after 1 hour or more: Re-polish the surface to remove the high spots, then reapply the coating.

What happens if the coating stops beading water? Is it failing?

+

Not necessarily. Loss of hydrophobic behaviour does not indicate coating failure. Often, contamination due to environmental pollutants can clog the coating.
Solution: Properly was the vehicle and use a decontamination spray (generally available at any retail outlet or online).
